DescriptionMake a difference where it matters most.BRGMC is seeking compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to join our inpatient behavioral health unit. As an essential part of the care team, you'll provide direct patient support, help maintain a therapeutic environment and play a key role in the healing process for individuals facing mental health challenges.Key Responsibilities:Assist patients with daily living activities and personal careSupport patients in managing emotions and behaviors safelyObserve, document, and report patient behaviors and progressFacilitate or assist with therapeutic activities and group sessionsRespond to crisis situations using verbal de-escalation and safety protocolsCollaborate with nurses, social workers, and clinicians to ensure quality careQualifications:High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or mental health training preferredPrior experience in behavioral health, residential care, or related field is a plusAbility to remain calm under pressure and work effectively with a diverse populationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsMust be able to work in a fast-paced, team-focused inpatient environmentCPR and MOAB certification preferred or willing to obtainWhat We Offer:Competitive pay and shift differentialsFull benefits package (medical, dental, retirement, etc.)Paid training and professional developmentSupportive, mission-driven work cultureOpportunity to make a real impact in the lives of patientsRequirementsEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:3 months in a Mental Health setting desired, and 2 years working experience required.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSHigh school graduate or GED preferred. Certificate of attendance at an approved nursing assistant/psychiatric technician program or advanced preparation in nursing, sociology and/or psychology with a minimum of a B.S. preferred.SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTCertified Nursing Assistant Certification or Basic EMT Certification or Military Medic experience or Nursing Student with completion of fundamental nursing clinical in RN program desired.
