Job Overview

This position oversees the administration of contracts for sponsored projects, including industry clinical trial agreements, grant-related agreements, and other agreements. The role involves managing a team of contract professionals to ensure efficient and compliant contract processing. This role will monitor and ensure that performance levels are met, handle complex items, and support the OSP Director on strategic and operational projects. Key responsibilities include negotiating and administering contracts, ensuring compliance with institutional and external regulations, and providing oversight of the contract administration process. This position will work closely with the OSP Grants team to develop and improve processes for grant-related agreements, risk assessments, and subrecipient monitoring.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage new opportunities with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring operational needs are met.
  • Develop tools to streamline understanding and execution of administration area.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improvement in program performance.
  • Develop and implement process efficiencies to ensure optimal performance at the sites participating.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, policies, and guidelines for the research administration area.
  • Maintains comprehensive data dashboards to monitor activity, generate reports for leadership review, and oversee smooth day-to-day operations of regulatory, contract, and financial management.
  • Manage and support teams conducting financial analyses on trials, provide budgeting guidance and approvals based on Medicare coverage analysis results.
  • Create financial compliance tools for care sites, develop best practices for study financial management, provides oversight to ensure consistent updates within CTMS.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and effective financial management.
  • Supports research leadership with departmental budget and reporting.
  • Supports and manages contracts where applicable.
  • Manage and oversee the institutional oversight processes for research billing at Intermountain Health, ensuring regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Research Billing team and responsible for ongoing program development.
  • Manage and oversee the HRPP/IRB, ensuring regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and responsible for ongoing program development.
  • Manage and support the administration and compliance of grants (pre and post award) and contracts (draft, negotiation, amendments, and execution).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading teams and/or projects
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Five (5) years of experience in clinical research, regulatory affairs, research finance
  • Bachelor's Degree in a clinical or life science field, business, or healthcare operations
  • Eight (8) years of direct and relevant experience in a research, healthcare, academic, or industry setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and administering a wide range of sponsored agreements, including industry clinical trial agreements and grant-related contracts.
  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance and experience in Subrecipient Monitoring compliance.
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams, specifically with successfully leading remote or hybrid teams.
  • Experience with sponsored projects management systems (e.g., Cayuse, Conga CLM)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information.
  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
  • May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling, and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $44.33 - $68.42
