Description

The Associate Vice President of Transportation at Buchart Horn Inc. is committed to working in accordance with the company's Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Guiding Principles.

Summary: The role supports the Vice President in achieving SBU goals for sales, revenue, and profit. It involves planning, directing, and supervising the activities and personnel of the SBU to maintain technical excellence and profitability in delivering high-quality professional services.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily departmental operations
  • Participate in and adhere to employment policies, including Talent Acquisition, Discipline & Termination, Timesheet and PTO reviews
  • Assist in managing department budgets, expenses, and financial performance

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain fiduciary responsibility to the company
  • Update Strategic Business Plan aligned with corporate goals
  • Ensure compliance with Transportation SBU and corporate initiatives and policies
  • Execute agreements in line with corporate policy, reviewing for adequacy, legal obligations, technical costs, and profitability
  • Contribute to the Buchart-Horn Transportation SBU Business planning process with financial, planning, sales, and personnel data
  • Coordinate project work and fee distribution across disciplines
  • Oversee daily operations, monitor efficiency, and implement improvements
  • Promote communication, professionalism, and morale within the SBU
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Drive employee performance through leadership, coaching, accountability, and evaluations
  • Support sales efforts by client engagement, proposal preparation, and negotiations
  • Facilitate effective communication via meetings, coaching, and standards enforcement
  • Collaborate with other AVPs on multi-discipline projects
  • Assist with client correspondence, outreach, and team development
  • Enhance project performance through resource management, budget oversight, quality standards, and technology utilization

Qualifications

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Engineering with 10+ years of design experience
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Registered Professional Engineer
