Joubert Law Firm is looking for a motivated, self-starter for our Baton Rouge office to take the role of Bookkeeper.

Our Bookkeeper tracks and reconciles all client-related expenditures for personal injury cases and first-party property damage claims, and some law firm billing.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Review and pay all client-related expenses, including invoicing for those expenses;
  • Frequently communicate with clients via text, phone calls, and emails;
  • Frequently communicate with consultants, experts, and medical providers for balances owed;
  • Prepare Disbursements, outlining all fees and expenses in cases;
  • Maintain and update our case management software.

The firm's CPA handles most other tasks, including all tax work and monthly reconciling of bank and credit card accounts.

Our Bookkeepers establish caring relationships with our clients and collaborative partnerships with our attorneys and support team. They have extensive contact with our clients, medical providers, lien holders, and other parties involved in our cases.

Requirements

  • Our ideal candidate will have at least a year of experience as a bookkeeper, with references.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Candidates should also know the basics of the day-to-day operations of a law office.
  • Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of case management software.
  • Excellent communication and people skills are essential.
  • Candidates must have secretarial and organizational skills and be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously effectively.

The offered pay to a successful candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
