What You Will Do

1. Own delivery of large and/or complex data science and engineering projects.
2. Lead in the development and testing of hypotheses across all functional data sets.
3. Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and technical staff to distill technical requirements from business requests.
4. Define and implement integrated data models, allowing data from multiple sources to be combined.
5. Design and develop scalable, efficient data pipeline processes for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, integration, and validation.
6. Define and implement data stores based on system and user requirements.
7. Design and develop models to understand and solve complex business problems using data mining, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, stochastic modeling, pattern recognition, probability analysis, and network analysis.
8. Design and implement production models using technologies such as SAS, Python, and R.
9. Leverage existing data sets and engineer new data sets, including SQL query development, data integration, and data quality resolution.
10. Apply advanced understanding of Big Data systems to data engineering and analytic model implementation.
11. Lead reviews of analytic models and algorithms.
12. Identify actionable insights, make recommendations, and influence business decisions by effectively communicating results to cross-functional groups.
13. Document and test analytic processes, including performance, data validation, and verification.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• In lieu of a degree, 7+ years of experience in a related field.

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we offer a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market rates. Our starting salaries are typically near the middle of the listed range. Compensation is based on experience, training, skill sets, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. Our total rewards include an annual incentive bonus, 401(k) with employer match, PTO, and health benefits.
