Job Summary

This role collaborates with end users, including service line leaders, and vendors to ensure procurement aligns with business needs and vendor requirements are upheld. Provides oversight to the purchasing division on strategic initiatives and assists with executing procurement strategies across all functions, including capital, products, medical supplies, procure-to-pay processes, payment discrepancy resolution, contract management, and policy compliance. Collaborates with Supply Chain leadership to drive initiatives at the system level and works with local facility leadership to meet divisional goals. Partners with key sub-divisions such as Sourcing, Logistics, ERP/Supply Chain IT, and Value Analysis to ensure all supply chain goals are met.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a related field

Work Experience

  • Required: 5 years in healthcare operations or procurement, including 2 years in leadership
  • Preferred: Experience in Supply Chain

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in computer skills, data entry, and retrieval
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency with Windows applications, Microsoft Office, Excel VBA, and Supply Chain Information Systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate initiatives and maintain communication with clinical staff
  • Ability to implement strategic initiatives within procurement
  • Knowledge of data analysis, ERP systems, purchasing platforms, and capital expenditure datasets
  • Reporting skills for high-volume metrics
  • Ability to multitask, delegate, and prioritize effectively
  • Knowledge of healthcare analytical platforms for decision-making
  • Leadership skills to motivate and educate staff

Job Duties

  • Manage Procurement staff, including development, engagement, recruitment, and scheduling
  • Oversee daily operations to resolve issues like backorders and discrepancies
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies
  • Collaborate on contract setup and large hospital integrations
  • Develop solutions for operational issues such as INR and DSO reduction
  • Ensure policy adherence across divisions
  • Negotiate with suppliers and ensure compliance for reimbursements
  • Mitigate supply back-order issues and escalate as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
