LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our faculty as part of our nursing excellence within an academic health sciences center environment. Our faculty have the opportunity to educate future nurses at the BSN, MN/MSN, DNS, and DNP levels, including state-of-the-art simulation laboratories. They can also conduct nursing and interdisciplinary research, engage in faculty practice including nurse-run clinics, pursue entrepreneurial and consultative activities, and develop leadership skills through our Emergent Nurse Leader Program.

We invite you to submit your curriculum vitae for the position of Simulation Faculty. The incumbent will provide instructional and technical support for the daily operations of the human simulation educational laboratories at our Off Campus Instructional Site in Baton Rouge, under the direction of our Nursing Skills & Technology Center. Responsibilities include supporting all clinical learning labs and simulated patient care experiences to ensure evidence-based learning in simulated environments.

This position is located at our Off Campus Instructional Site in Baton Rouge, LA.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or related field; Doctorate Degree required for Assistant Professor
  • Ability to manage a complex, high-paced laboratory environment with attention to safety and detail
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software relevant to simulation and learning labs
  • Ability to collaborate effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or a health-related field
  • BLS CPR Instructor certification (also ACLS and PALS preferred)
  • Experience with chemical and bio-hazardous material handling and familiarity with regulations
  • Experience maintaining simulation lab inventories, supplies, and equipment
