Mechanical Project Engineer (Contract) – Plaquemine, LA

A leading chemical manufacturing company is hiring a Mechanical Project Engineer on a contract basis for an onsite role in Plaquemine, LA. This urgent position involves hands-on involvement in capital projects within a dynamic industrial setting.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support capital projects from initial design to commissioning
• Perform piping stress analysis and determine appropriate pipe sizing
• Develop and evaluate design documents, including PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specs
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to troubleshoot and execute projects
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety departments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial or chemical plant environments
• Expertise in piping design, stress analysis, and process equipment
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
• Must be available to start immediately and work fully onsite
