Capitol City Produce is looking for an experienced safety leader to join our team! We operate in a fast-paced environment and are looking for a high impact player as we continue to grow the company and evolve our safety culture.

This position reports to our CFO/VP of Administration and is responsible for the development and oversight of the company's safety, security and risk management programs, which includes:

1. Ensuring a strong safety culture and the safety and security of our employees
2. Assessing risks and developing protective measures
3. Maximizing the return of captive insurance loss funds
4. Handling claim investigations through resolution for workers compensation, auto and general liability
5. Chairing the company's safety committee

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years of relevant experience or 10+ years relevant safety and risk management experience. Distribution, warehouse and transportation experience preferred.
2. Knowledge of current DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations
3. Experience with workers compensation administration
4. Availability to immediately respond to all accidents 24/7 in conjunction with Fleet Safety Supervisor
5. Sound judgment and problem solving skills
6. High degree of professionalism including the ability to maintain confidentiality
7. Detail orientation with strong analytical skills
8. Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office
9. Highly organized with the capability of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
10. Schedule flexibility and willingness to travel as needed (10%)
