Job Summary

The Club Manager will oversee gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and a financially successful club. They will lead a team of employees positively, providing ongoing training and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing staff including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
2. Create a welcoming atmosphere for members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff follows top customer service standards.
3. Staff Management
   • Schedule staff and cover all shifts.
   • Lead by example, maintaining accountability through training and coaching, aligned with PF's values and goals.
   • Manage payroll processing weekly/bi-weekly.
   • Resolve employee issues or concerns.
   • Handle disciplinary and termination activities.
4. Handle front desk activities
   • Answer phones courteously and assist callers.
   • Check members in.
   • Sign up new members.
   • Guide prospective members on tours.
   • Address member requests, issues, and questions.
5. Ensure timely opening and closing of the gym.
6. Oversee cleanliness and maintenance, including daily cleaning responsibilities.
   • Ensure safety for employees, members, and property.
   • Report equipment repairs promptly.
7. Manage marketing efforts, ensuring staff awareness and training on promotions.
8. Authorize expenditures and refunds, and handle daily bank deposits.
9. Prepare HR forms and coordinate with Corporate Payroll.
10. Track and report statistics (weekly, monthly, annually).
11. Provide backup support for absent employees.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills, preferably in fitness.
• Experience as an Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness.
• Strong leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite).
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and hardworking.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Current CPR Certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 or older.

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking during shifts.
• Talking in person or on the phone.
• Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional exposure to chemicals.
