Reporting Line

This position reports to the Regional Vice President.

Role and Responsibilities

The Sales Development Leader will work closely with the largest players in the industry, building long-term relationships with key stakeholders, securing ABB ELIP products as the preferred solution, and helping drive the profitability growth of the business. The role involves visiting end-user customers and decision-makers to understand their needs and specify ABB's products in critical verticals. The successful candidate will execute the market plan, report progress, and maintain contact with sales and marketing leadership.

This is a remote position, preferred to be located in the New Orleans or Baton Rouge, LA metro areas. The role contributes to the Electrification Installation Products division in the Gulf District and is mainly responsible for:

  1. Market understanding: Research customer needs, propose solutions from ABB ELIP's portfolio, and support sales in market penetration. Gather market intelligence through customer engagement to identify trends and opportunities.
  2. Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure satisfaction and business growth.
  3. Specification Development: Target and develop relationships with contractors, end-users, OEMs, and decision-makers to achieve product specifications and drive orders.
  4. Training: Provide technical and CEU training to stakeholders internally and externally.
  5. Sales Achievement: Collaborate internally to align strategies and achieve sales targets through effective go-to-market execution.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in business, marketing, engineering, or related fields.
  • 5+ years in technical specification/product marketing in the electrical industry.
  • Proven success in customer/business development and relationship management.
  • Understanding of product portfolio application and value proposition delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Legal work authorization in the United States.
