The Watermark Baton Rouge hotel, located at 150 Third Street, is hiring a General Manager.

The General Manager is responsible for focusing on hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, and employee development, while maintaining hotel integrity.

Education & Experience

• At least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 4-year college degree with 4-5 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree with 5-6 years of related experience.

Duties & Functions

1. Tour operating departments daily, making adjustments via department heads.
2. Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions, reviewing sales and operations efforts.
3. Meet all financial review deadlines and corporate programs.
4. Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers.
5. Ensure department heads meet budget and accounting standards.
6. Develop managers for advancement through training programs.
7. Monitor management trainees' development.
8. Adhere to and train staff on company policies and procedures.
9. Assist with the budget process as required.
10. Ensure service standards training in each department.
11. Foster a positive, guest-focused team environment.
12. Inspect rooms regularly with relevant directors.
13. Process invoices daily using A/P procedures.
14. Ensure timely financial document submission per the accounting calendar.
15. Maintain property cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive programs.
16. Ensure staff interactions are attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient.
