Engineer will create and maintain instrument data sheets, drawings, P&IDs, I/O wiring diagrams, charts, instrument index and specifications.
Communicating instrument changes to other disciplines for piping design and layout. Working with process engineering for instrumentation specifications.
Checking instrument installation details.
Assigning and coordinating work with drafters and designers.
Collaborate with vendors to procure instrumentation.
Creating technical documents for the procurement and construction of instrument packages on skids and buildings.
Perform sizing calculations for control valves, flow meters, regulators, shutdown valves, and relief valves.
Create checking SAFE chart for instrument packages.
Maintaining instrument loop folders. Perform bid analysis and provide recommendations on vendor quotes.
Design of fire and gas detection and risk mitigation safety systems
Design of moderately complex instrumentation systems of petrochemical or refinery projects

B.S. in related Engineering field
(10+) years' experience working in EPC environment
P.E. Preferred, Texas or Louisiana
CAD experience is highly valued
Experience performing field trips to processing facilities
Experience in troubleshooting
Experience in working with engineering software packages
DCS familiarity
Experience that includes oversight of projects (PM) for DCS upgrade or install would be highly valued
Ability to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.
Ability to perform field work if assigned
Schedules may periodically require extended work hours
