This position will be based in Holly Ridge, LA; however, the site is not yet operational. Until the Holly Ridge office is established, the selected candidate will be required to work from another approved location.
Job Summary/Purpose
Manages large power plant projects or programs of projects that are typically $250M dollars and above. Manages the delivery of a capital project or program to which he or she is assigned and focuses on the achievement of project cost and schedule objectives while achieving excellence in the areas of project safety and quality. Works directly with the Project Team to ensure project is delivered with cost and schedule certainty. Manages risks and risk management issues to ensure risks are identified and mitigated. Works directly with Capital Projects Project Controls group to ensure alignment with Stage Gate Process and to ensure that proper project controls are being implemented; to ensure costs are managed; change control is established and controlled; and that contingency is properly controlled. Provides direct management and support to Project Team members throughout the project lifecycle. Works closely with business unit contractor representatives to achieve capital project objectives.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Provides clear, timely and accurate project status reports for management. Prepares reports and presentations to management. Prepares and issues status reports as required. Identifies, makes timely decisions and takes prompt action on project issues that could impact project performance. Promptly communicates issues to the next level of leadership that are outside the authority of capability of the Senior Project Manager to resolve.
Coordinates with all functional departments as required to achieve the requirements of the applicable corporate standards and to achieve project budget and timeline including CC&A, and Supply Chain. Monitors contractor performance in the area of project safety, schedule, cost, quality of work and compliance with contractual requirements.
