Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply industry CADD and design standards for transportation projects.
• Develop and finalize design plans using MicroStation and/or OpenRoads, including grading, surface analysis, and creating alignments, profiles, and sections.
• Analyze sketches, field data, and engineering input to create detailed design documents.
• Coordinate the integration of survey, geotechnical, and GIS data for project drafting and design.
• Prepare project documentation, including preliminary and final drawings, exhibits, and quantity summaries.
• Review and ensure the accuracy and constructability of design deliverables.
• Develop innovative drafting and design production standards, particularly for roadway/highway projects.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff.
• Assist engineers with technical challenges and serve as a design advisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited Curriculum or equivalent, plus appropriate continuing education.
• Applicant must be a registered Civil Engineer in the State of Louisiana.
• Background should include experience in roadway design consultant coordination and review, roadways, drainage and sewer systems.
• 10+ years of experience within civil engineering or related experience.
• Demonstrates capability to oversee and manage staff of engineers. P.E Required.

• Experience on LA DOTD routes
