Position Summary
This is a 9-month, full-time position. Instructors may be assigned classes at any of the four River Parishes Community College campuses (Gonzales, Reserve,
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Millwright in the areas of industrial maintenance, working with pumps, turbines and similar machinery.
  • Associate's Degree in Industrial Technology or equivalent credentials.
  • Knowledgeable in the Workforce crafts subject area of expertise.
  • Community college experience, university teaching, or corporate training experience is highly desired.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in Industrial Maintenance/Millwright and BS in Industrial Technology or related field.
  • Certifications in OSHA 10/30 in construction and/or industry and other Manufacturing-related certificates.
  • Knowledgeable in NCCER Millwright coursework Job Concepts

Job Concepts
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides and supports classroom instruction of required courses.
  • Meet college deadlines for recording attendance, grades, learning outcome and assessment, and textbook adoption.
  • Selects and assesses student learning outcomes, fosters effective learning in both classroom and lab settings, and promotes good public relations via contacts and regular communications with business, industry, and the public sector.
  • Assures the development of schedules for the Program that meet the needs of students and integrate millwright coursework in all modes of delivery.
  • Develops and implements measures and methodology for determining the effectiveness and efficiency of the courses.
  • Attains, maintains, and reviews program certification requirements, as appropriate.
  • Maintain lab equipment and inventory of tools.
  • Consult with other college faculty and staff on issues relevant to student success.
  • Follows and enforces rules and regulations as described by the Louisiana Community and Technical College System and other policies and procedures established by the college.
  • Serves on committees as needed.
  • Participate in recruitment events and represent the college at various functions as needed to promote the Millwright and Career & Technical Education programs.
  • Demonstrates commitment to professional development in the field.
  • Collaborates with the dean and department chair to accurately maintain training records.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
