Job Description:
This position will serve as primary staff person for the ten academic programs of the Interdisciplinary Studies program within the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. These programs have over 80 faculty members and ten directors drawn from various departments across the LSU campus.
Job Responsibilities:
Budget/Accounting - 35%: Manages operating and payroll budgets for ten Interdisciplinary programs. Serves as Cost Center Manager. Review and distribute monthly ledgers to appropriate Program Directors. Maintain record of account balances and reconcile ledgers. Complete costing allocations for personnel transactions. Monitor Interdisciplinary Foundation and grant accounts (Award Analyst and Grant Financial Analyst). Maintain spreadsheet for each Foundation account and grant account to record and reconcile all transactions. Assist with loading HSS Professorship appointments and supplementary compensation.
Human Resources Specialist - 25%: Will serve as one of the HR Analysts in Workday for the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. Enters human resource related actions as requested by the Associate Dean for personnel in Interdisciplinary Programs. Actions to include creating positions and job requisitions, adding/updating appointments, compensation changes, hiring, and terminations.
Administration - 20%: Serve as main point of contact for all Interdisciplinary Programs. Manage administrative office and oversee activities including keeping up-to-date on deadlines for all processes and updating faculty, staff, and student employees on policy changes. Supervise Coordinator of Interdisciplinary Studies position. Ensure office is staff during business hours.
Travel - 15%: Make travel arrangements for students and guests of all Interdisciplinary Programs and ASPIRE. Process travel and reimbursement requests. Assist faculty with processing Spend Authorizations and Expense Reports.
Other duties as assigned - 5%
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with three years of experience.
