Job Purpose

The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the branch operation. The GM will be focused on recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent within a high performing branch working for a leader in the consumer finance industry. In addition, the GM will be responsible for managers, team members, managing the branch P&L, driving new loan growth, managing current loan portfolio, marketing, maintenance of current business partnerships, and development of new strategic business partners. The General Manager will perform in accordance with RMC's Mission, Vision and Shared Values.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Lead a focused and dedicated team to effectively meet the company established loan goals and operational metrics.
  2. Manage overall day-to-day branch operations by enhancing branch profitability, control, and growth through effective leadership and employee development.
  3. Challenge and motivate managers and team members in an atmosphere of mutual respect, while establishing expectations, setting standards, and providing timely, effective feedback.
  4. Exercise a degree of independent judgment in making decisions affecting employees and the work of the branch within company policy guidelines and District Supervisor oversight.
  5. Serve as a subject matter expert on our personal loan product offerings to present loan solutions to current and potential customers that help them achieve their financial goals.
  6. Manage risk mitigation by creating and maintaining branch operations solvency through the control of assets, proper credit extension, and proper follow-up and counseling of past-due customers.
  7. Direct managers and team members in setting and accomplishing collection goals and monitor to ensure all personnel are following both the letter and the spirit of the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).
  8. Train branch team members and monitor strict compliance with UDAAP (Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices).
  9. Establish and build customer relationships through delivering exceptional service.
  10. Assign duties to employees and frequently examine their work for accuracy, neatness, timeliness and maintaining efficiency.
  11. Partner with Recruiting and District Supervisors to address branch staffing needs including conducting interviews and actively seeking top talent.
  12. Cultivate new relationships with local retail businesses. Partner with Account Managers to maintain strong relationships with current retail businesses, handle complaints and train external business partners in company policies and procedures.
  13. Oversee the following duties including but not limited to:
    1. Approve and close loans, as necessary.
    2. Work with past-due customers by developing a plan for resolution.
    3. Delegate all collection activity daily and follow up to ensure completion.
    4. Process insurance claims for customers. Maintain proper insurance claims records and reports.
    5. Telephone and send collection material to past-due customers, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. 7+ years in the financial service industry
  3. 3+ years of management experience
  4. Ability to solve real world business problems with creative, critical thinking
  5. Demonstrate and understand modern sales theories and practices
  6. Must pass pre-employment screenings
  7. Valid Driver's License and access to a dependable automobile with liability insurance coverage.
  8. Must pass drug screen, criminal, and credit background checks.

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Willingness to relocate for career advancement.
  3. Problem solver: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner with a data-driven approach
  4. Planning and organizing: Must prioritize and plan work activities using time management skills and develop realistic action plans.
  5. Adaptability: Adapt to changes in work environment
  6. Follow policies and procedures prescribed by RMC
  7. Demonstrated passion for customer service with a personality that relates well with a broad spectrum of people, including external customers, branch colleagues, and corporate co-workers.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Thrives in a pay-for-performance atmosphere.
  10. Proven ability to multi-task.
  11. High degree of integrity.
  12. Excellent knowledge of the consumer finance industry.
  13. Proven ability to multi-task and organize effectively.
