Job Summary:
The Paralegal will be responsible for managing all legal inquiries, managing subpoenas, responding to legal requests, and assisting with depositions, Medical Review Panels, and Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs). The paralegal will also oversee all deposition requests, setting up meetings with attorneys and any follow-up requests as needed. The paralegal will also oversee the creation and management of attorney responsible accounts for patients who are involved in a case related to their injury, including attorney's execution of documents pertaining to financial responsibility.
The role requires strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate can assist physicians with legal needs, including drafting appeals, coordinating case documentation, and preparing witnesses. Experience in the healthcare field, particularly related to medical-legal cases, is highly desirable. A Notary Public certification would be an added benefit.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Legal Department Team Members
The Paralegal will function as a team lead to oversee the legal department team members and duties thereof to ensure completeness and accuracy of all legal department work and handling of legal information for the company. The Paralegal may be involved in the work schedule, hiring, termination, performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions of legal department team members under the supervision of the Business Office Manager.
