Job Description

  1. Customer Service
    1. Communicates effectively with customers
    2. Responds to customer issues and/or concerns
    3. Perform routine quality/service rounds to units
    4. Pays attention to detail that assures patients, visitors and employees have a quality experience in our facility

  2. Inventory Control/Materials Management
    1. Locates, pick and deliver stock items and/or equipment to appropriate area
    2. Process item/equipment returns and update inventory database
    3. Participate in routine physical inventory maintenance tasks
    4. Always places stock and equipment in proper location
    5. Performs stock rotation to eliminate expired items
    6. Performs and/or assist in decontamination of equipment duties
    7. Demonstrates a complete understanding of policies and procedures
    8. Demonstrates a complete understanding of software procedures
    9. Insures proper charges have been made regarding patient billable items and equipment
    10. assembles and inspects all rental equipment as "ready to use"
    11. Delivers supplies to departments, receives signatures verifying delivery and issues receipt to ensure that accurate and reliable supply distribution records are maintained. This also includes make in sure catalog numbers are correct and ensuring that products have not reached their expiration dates
    12. Assist in annual inventory of hospital supplies
    13. Receives and stores stock, ensures that adequate inventory levels are maintained and notes shortages in order to avoid waste and ensure the conversation of valuable hospital resources
    14. Maintains adequate inventory levels in approved departments by preparing and submitting customized requisitions for supplies and equipment.
    15. Verifies that ordered supplies are received and disbursed in proper location, ensure that requisitions are properly filled and that the correct product is delivered to the department.
    16. Monitors supply and equipment levels on specially carts within nursing units, processes requisitions when needed and performs quality assurance checks on crash carts in an effort to ensure proper working conditions
    17. Transports used equipment to the decontamination area for cleaning, retrieve clean equipment from the equipment room and transports equipment and supplies to and from nursing units in a timely and efficient manner
    18. Monitors patient equipment and supply charges in order to ensure that patients are accurately billed
    19. Observes and adheres to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures and follows all safety, quality assurance and infection control standards
  3. Other Duties as Assigned
    1. Completes assigned projects
    2. Active involvement in performance improvement initiatives


Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in service/trades with some experience in materials/supply
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
