TK Health is a correctional healthcare provider with a regional focus on our clinics in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas Jails and Detention Centers. Our team oversees the day-to-day healthcare operations in facilities with inmate populations ranging from 25 to nearly 2,800 inmates. Location: East Baton Rouge Parish Jail, Baton Rouge LA Medical Records Clerk Full Time - M-F (40 hours) Vaccines not mandatory The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for assembling patient information into patients' medical charts/records in accurate and complete manner in accordance with TK Health policies and procedures, accreditation standards and applicable state/federal regulations. Assembles patients' health information including patient medical history, exam results, X-ray reports, lab tests, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Maintains paper/electronic health records (EHR) databases, verifies accuracy and accessibility of files, and ensures files are secure. Reviews records to ensure all forms are completed, properly identified, and signed and that all necessary information is in the manual and/or computer file in preferred style such as chronological. Process and forward record requests, and releases information to persons and agencies according to federal/state regulations, TK Health policies/procedures, and accreditation standards. Follows up on outstanding record request in a timely fashion. Submits files/documentation to physicians and other clinicians as requested for review, quality assurance checks, and other purposes Attends meetings or conferences as assigned and reports on major points and actions resolved or to be taken. Handles variety of matters involving contact with facility and medical staff, committees, government agencies, and the public. Composes correspondence and disseminates to appropriate individuals. Answers phones, questions, and requests. Prepares various documents and handles confidential matters in accordance with TK Health policies and procedures. Ensures equipment operation, calls for repairs, maintains equipment inventories, and evaluates new equipment and techniques. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as assigned. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Perform other duties as assigned.
