Job Description
The Medical Psychologist will diagnose and treat a wide variety of mental, emotional, substance-related, and behavioral disorders. Use of appropriate psychotropic medication management (in consultation with the patient's Attending or Primary Physician) and evidence-based therapies, will assist individuals with problems ranging from short-term interpersonal issues to severe, chronic conditions. The Medical psychologist will perform comprehensive mental health evaluations, compile patient medical data, utilize appropriate laboratory/imagining/medical testing, and collect health history/mental status examination findings. Develop and implement behavioral health treatment plans, evaluate results of mental health assessments, and provide evidence-based therapeutic intervention to patients.
Education: PhD/Psy.D. in Clinical or School Psychology for a regionally accredited university, as well as postdoctoral masters degree in clinical psychopharmacology from a regionally accredited university.
Licensure: Current and unrestricted license from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners to practice Medical Psychology."
