**Description**

**Summary**

Maintain the cleanliness of all baling areas and docks within the Distribution Warehouse by disposing of trash and sorting recyclables while being in compliance with all local, state, federal, and Associated Grocers sanitation operating procedures.

**This is a part-time position working Sundays 9:00am-3:00pm and Monday-Thursdays 10:00am-4:00pm.**

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.**

- Maintain cleanliness of the sanitation baling area including outside areas near the trash compactor and bale storage area.

- Perform recycling functions including compacting plastic and cardboard by utilizing the baling machines in order to make bales and place on the yard.

- Correctly sort specific materials to ensure bales are made to maximize revenue.

- Empty trash bins, hoppers, recycle bins, and bags located on docks and in the aisles.

- Operate industrial equipment such as the electric pallet jack.

- Comply with all safety and sanitation rules, regulations, and guidelines; make on the spot correction of unsafe acts and maintain an inspection ready distribution center.

**Education and/or Experience**

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Other Qualifications**

* Successfully complete industrial equipment certification as needed.

* The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 90 pounds.
