**Description**

**Position Purpose:**

Responsible for providing an excellent guest drinking experience and exceptional customer service by assisting and working alongside the F&B Bartenders to deliver professional, friendly and timely beverage service to guests. As an F&B Barback BOB at Hollywood Casino, you will assist bartenders in all venues to accommodate beverage demands as required or requested. You will display honesty and integrity in all aspects of employment and comply with all standard operating procedures for the F&B Department. You will adhere to our RED CARPET customer service expectations when interacting with casino guests and employees.

**Essential Functions and Responsibilities:**

* Welcome and greet guests in a friendly, upbeat and positive manner including using the guests name when possible and learning to recognize repeat guests and VIP players

* Interact with customers and serve drinks per the guidelines as stipulated by company policy

* Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed, according to guidelines

* Provides fast, friendly, professional service to casino guests, beverage servers and bartenders

* Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies, as well as maintain a clean workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines

* Maintains par levels of operating supplies and equipment for each bar obtaining replacement stock from warehouse inventory in accordance with procedure

* Places liquors, fruits, glassware, linen, silverware, paper supplies and sundries in their designated places following established storage guidelines and safety procedures

* Replaces empty draught beer kegs as needed or required

* Slices and pits fruit, and fills ice bins with crushed or cubed ice from designated ice machines

* Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures

* Removes and properly disposes of all debris accumulated at the bar and bar lobby/lounge area

* Wipes counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station

* Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, mix proper ingredients and prepare cocktails for guests

* Check customer identification to ensure guests meet legal drinking age

* Assess guests needs and preferences. Make beverage recommendations when necessary

* Operate a cash register/POS System, ringing proper amount into the register and giving the guest or server the correct change

* Account for all cash, charge and complimentary sales according to established procedures while maintaining the integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities

* Attend meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required

* Comply with all food and beverage regulations

**Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:**

* Skills in preparing both classic and innovative drinks and learning cocktail ingredients to meet customer beverage needs

* Requires social, personable, friendly and enthusiastic character traits

* Must possess excellent customer service skills

* Skill in speaking with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds

* Strong work ethic someone who takes great pride in professionalism, responsibility, and is proactive

* Effective time management skills and ability to multitask

* Must be able to work independently and as a team member

* Know or be able to learn tray service and cocktail ingredients

* Ability to count money and change correctly

* Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues

* Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy

* Requires the ability to handle different challenges each day and adequately prioritize those demands

* Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

**Education and Experience Requirements:**

* Must be 21 years of age

* Previous experience as a barback or bartender is a plus

* Must have or obtain a Responsible Vendor Permit (RVP) certificate

* Must have or obtain a Louisiana Liquor License

* Unique knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks

* Excellent customer service/communication skills including the ability to read, write, understand and speak English

* Must meet and maintain professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy

**Physical Demands and Work Environment:**

* The primary work environment is a bar area either on the casino floor or land side

* Must be physically mobile with the ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs.

* Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in constricting areas

* Must possess ability to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise and bright lights while working in a fast pace and often crowded/noisy environment

* Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, climb stairs, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas including confined spaces
